Online Dating Is Now Socially Accepted
In very recent years (some may say months), it has finally become socially acceptable to find dates online. Due to this, people are actually talking about online dating publicly in every day conversations in a way which has never been done before. Although Plenty Of Fish and OkCupid have been around much longer, I suspect that Tinder did this by creating an App that was SO convenient to use, that was based on SUCH superficial qualities that men didn’t feel embarrassed about it.
My opinion of Tinder however, is the lowest of the three dating websites I have successfully used. It’s not due to a lack of attention from men, and it’s not due to pervy messages as you may suspect. It’s because it has the least amount of information about each person on it, therefore causing the most dull getting-to-know-you chit chats. Some may say Tinder is a hook up app. Speaking broadly, I disagree.
It is certainly feasible that some people are on dating websites just looking for hook ups, yet being a (researched) member of the higher demographic of attractiveness, I have encountered under 10 propositions over 8 years on Plenty of Fish, Okcupid and recently Tinder. Honestly, I can only think one at the moment but I’ll say ten to be fair. I can also account for only a very low number of men actually asking to meet me once engaged in conversation with me.
So what are all these people doing on these websites if they are not looking for a quick hook up? Why are people using these apps to “date” when they aren’t actually meeting any of the people they talk to there?
The answer is, men don’t know how to go on the dates once they make contact with the woman.
